1.     JAPANESE COVERED BRIDGE   

 Address : At the corner of Tran Phu Street & Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street The Japanese Covered Bridge has other names such us Japanese Bridge or Pagoda Bridge. This Bridge - regarded as “ The symbol of Hoian “ - was built by Japanese Community somewhere between the end of 16th century & the beginning of 17th century.  

2.     ANCIENT HOUSES 

¨      Tan Ky Old House

Address : 101 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street

This is a private house, built at early 19th century . More than 02 centuries passed, the house has been well preserved. 

¨      Phung Hung Old House

Address : 04 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street

This 200 year - old house has been passed down for eight generations. You will have a chance to witness the supreme harmony among the Vietnamese, Chinese & Japanese structures.  

¨      Quan Thang Old House

Address : 77 Tran Phu Street

This private house is about 300 years old. If you are really an expert in fine wood-carving, this is an interesting place for you. 

¨      Tran Family Chapel

Address : 21 Le Loi Street

The Family Chapel was built in 1802 by a Tran Mandarin with donations from Tran Family members. This is one of a few Ancient  Family Chapel existing in Hoian.    

3.    CHINESE ASSEMBLY HALLS

¨      Fujian Assembly Hall

Address : 46 Tran Phu Street 

Constructed in 1697, the Assembly Hall is the meeting  & worshipping place of the Fujian Community in Hoian. 

¨      Chaozhou Assembly Hall

Address : 157 Nguyen Duy Hieu Street

This congregational hall was built in 1845 by the Chaozhou Chinese & has been a worshipping place for General Phuc Ba, who is believed to be able to calm trouble seas.   

¨      Cantonese Assembly Hall   Built in 1885 by the Cantonese Chinese, this assembly hall is meeting & worshipping place of the Cantonese Community.    

4.     MUSEUMS        

¨      Museum of Trade Ceramics

Address : 80 Tran Phu Street

This museum displays a fine collection of trade ceramics dating back from 16th - 17th  century. Items on display are the results of archeological excavations in Hoian & in Cham Island.

¨      Museum of History & Culture

Address : 07 Nguyen Hue Street

This museum keeps some original & valuable documents regarding the establishment & development of Hoian through different historical periods.

¨      Museum of Sa Huynh Culture

Address : 149 Tran Phu Street

If you are interested in Sa Huynh culture - one of the ancient cultures dated back to 4th century BC, this museum should be paid a visit.


 

  • TRADITIONAL HANDICRAFT WORKSHOP
More than 13 traditional occupations of the Hoianian like lantern - making, wood-carving, bamboo-carving...... can be seen at this workshop. Also, 30 minutes of free folk music is performed twice a day at 10:15 am & 3:15 pm .
  • HOIAN CENTRAL MARKET

For some foreigners, this central market is “ Everything Market “ , simply because for the local people, they can find & shop a lot of things ranging from the cheapest to the most expensive. The most interesting thing to the tourists is to visit the fish-market  early in the morning.

  • CUA DAI BEACH
Just 04 km away from the city center,  Cua Dai  - a clean, fine & white sand beach is known as one of the most beautiful beaches in Central Vietnam.
  • CHAM ISLANDS
Located 15 Km from Hoian, and just 1,5 hours by tourist boat, Cham island is endowed with an abundant & diversified faunas and floras. Cham Island is also home to sea swallows.
  • KIM BONG CARPENTRY VILLAGE
The village has been famous for the art of wood-carvings. Over the centuries, some decorative & carved works by Kim Bong Craftsman  are still alive in Hoian  & Hue Imperial City
  • THANH HA POTTERY VILLAGE
The pottery trade of this village is believed to originate from Thanh Hoa province. Today, on coming to the village, you will see with your own eyes the process of making pottery products by skillful artisans.
  • TRA QUE VEGETABLE VILLAGE
About 03 km  North of  Hoian , Tra Que Vegetable Village is the main vegetable - Supplier to Hoian Market & surrounding areas.

  • TRA KIEU
Address : Tra Kieu Village, Duy Son Commune, Duy Xuyen District Distance : About 25 km Southwest of Hoian. Tra Kieu, known as Simhapura or city of lion used to be the capital city of Champa Kingdom at early 4th century. Visitors to Tra Kieu today can find only part of the foundation.
  • MY SON HOLYLAND
Address : Duy Phu Commune, Duy Xuyen District Distance : About 55 km Southwest of Hoian. My Son - the World Cultural Heritage was once the Hindu center of the Cham. This is the Cham Tower complex where you can enjoy the Cham  art of stone & brick - carving, see the ruined temples dated back to  early 7th  century.
  • MARBLE MOUNTAINS
Address :  Marble Village, Da Nang City Distance : About 20 km from Hoian. Marble Mountains is a group of five mountains named after Five Ritual Elements : Mental, Earth , Water, Fire & Wood.  The largest & most beautiful mountain is Thuy Son or Water Mountain with old pagodas & natural magnetic caves.
  • CHAM MUSEUM
Address :  02 Tieu La Street, Da Nang City Distance : About 35 km from Hoian. The best sight in Danang , Cham Museum is the place to display more than 300 pieces of sandstone carvings collected from many provinces in Central Vietnam. This is the best & the only place you can enjoy the Cham art of stone-carving in Vietnam.
  • MY LAI MASSACRE
Address :  My Lai Hamlet, Son My Subdistrict, Quang Ngai Province Distance : About 130 km South of Hoian. This is the place where a mass-killing of innocent civilians committed by American Troops  in the morning of 16 March, 1968.
